The world’s first volume roll-out of LED backlit 6-sheet advertising panels

In 2005 we undertook a project that would provide us with another innovation first, this time in the transport sector.

LUAS Light Rail, Dublin – The world’s first volume roll-out of LED backlit 6-sheet advertising panels. This light rail system in Dublin specified LED systems from the start – which was central to the operator’s sustainability goals. In another innovation first, the panels were manufactured curved to fit into the drum structures. After extensive development work, we produced a custom grid pattern to manage the light across the bend radius, resulting in diffuse illumination and optimal brightness. We also specified the other materials in the illumination package and manufactured as a set. This project was a significant engineering challenge with an excellent outcome, building our capability for the future.
