Innovative LED lighting for the Elizabeth Line

The Elizabeth line is the most significant addition to London’s transport network in a generation. The new railway is transforming life and travel in London and the South East, reducing journey times, creating additional capacity, transforming accessibility and providing a huge economic boost.

Advertising lightboxes are installed in the new station walkways.  These are curved to match the walls, ensuring a sleek design and maximum passenger capacity.  Our project was to develop LED lighting that followed the curve and provided a bright, illuminated advertising display.  We also developed the innovative lit border.  The engineering challenge was complex, working with customised components and stringent safety standards.

We supplied customised Bright Green Grid as it lends itself to flexible, restricted depth areas. This allowed us to retain a constant depth from LED to poster face.  also, Bright Green Grid is manufactured from fire retardant FR4 PCB and has a class 0 fire rating making it the ideal product for the plastic controlled environment of an underground station.

From conceptualising and design to manufacture and delivery, our inhouse engineers ensured the project was a resounding success.
