In October 2019, SSH, a Dubai-based company, began restoring Al Salam Palace in Kuwait. The historic building became a museum with 26 immersive exhibition galleries.
Nich Smith Lighting Design selected us for the project. They aimed to recreate the palace’s original lighting effects with accuracy. They chose our LED backlighting products, all set to a 3000K colour temperature for even, consistent lighting throughout.
The lighting brief included several challenges. We recreated raft-style ceilings with a slatted daylight effect. We also backlit display graphics and highlighted rare artefacts in custom display cabinets.
Our in-house engineers pre-assembled the LED panels before shipping. This ensured full testing and made installation quick and efficient.
We delivered a complete LED lighting system. It used DMX controls and DALI drivers from our sister company, Bright Green Connect. The setup allowed localised, independent control of each area.
This project shows true craftsmanship and technical precision. It brings over 300 years of Kuwaiti history to life through thoughtful, high-quality architectural lighting.
