The Bright Green path to enlightenment:

Bright Green Technology exists to address one specific fact: fluorescent backlighting is simply unsustainable.

They waste energy, are expensive to maintain, dangerous to dispose of and don’t provide consistent, high-quality illumination. (Click here for the nine major problems with fluorescents.)

Bright Green solutions are solid-state LED backlighting systems, designed from the ground up to solve the problems created by fluorescent displays.

We call it Sustainable Backlighting™ and it delivers the best possible display quality at the lowest cost – both environmentally and financially.

Technology Highlights

Bright Green’s Sustainable Backlighting™ solves all of the problems associated with fluorescent tubes in one bold stroke.

  • One eighth the energy consumption
Leaving out the waste associated with maintenance, heat generation (air conditioning) and ‘always on’ inefficiency. More on the energy story…
  • Zero maintenance
The LEDs in our systems last 6-10 years, slowly degrading rather than suddenly failing. (You can replace them at 70% brightness in around 6 years or leave them for longer). There’s no need to visit in-between.
  • Easy to replace and recycle
There is no mercury, argon, xenon, phosphor salts, or tungsten. And the whole system is 98% recyclable by weight.
  • No efficiency loss if turned off
Unlike fluorescents, they can be programmed to turn off when not needed, saving even more energy and carbon.
  • No significant heat
They’re cool to the touch and create no air-conditioning burden.
  • Bright, even illumination
No striping, no loss of perceived brightness. Optimized for media use: warm skin tones, clean whites, vivid colors. The Quality Story…
  • More scope for creativity
    They’re dimmable and programmable.
