Uplighting with Bright Green Matrix

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Appleton Signs has just completed an installation in Spain.  Supplying and project managing the project proved to be a challenging but rewarding experience. The client, an Engel & Volkers property business, needed their new premise to standout from the surrounding retail outlets.   The challenge for the local Spanish architects and Appleton Signs was that the corner plot had a long, curved facia section which needed bright, even illumination.  This was difficult to achieve with fluorescent tubes.  In addition, a key request from the client was reduced power and maintenance - as well as robustness for transport.

Working closely with the Robert Horne Group, the agreed solution was Bright Green Matrix.   A proven LED backlighting system which uses high performance 1 watt LEDs encased within a robust aluminium housing.   Different length Matrix ‘sticks’ within the range enabled a linear installation of 21 metres accommodating the curve of the facia to down light onto the sign. The 1 watt LEDs ensured excellent illumination across the 600mm depth of the facia.

With energy saving of 80% over ‘tubes’ and a 50,000 hour lifetime the client was delighted with the solution.  Luke Appleton of Appleton Signs commented, “Mark Tomlinson from Robert Horne found us the perfect solution for this project. Bright Green Matrix was very simple to install and ticked all the boxes we needed for our client”.
