After an 18 month search and a competitive bid process, a thriving suburb of Chicago, Illinois, has chosen Bright Green Matrix TM to retrofit its parking garage signage. The community’s local government was looking for a low maintenance, environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional fluorescent tubes that were originally installed. The signage within the parking garage is illuminated 24 hours a day and provides a safe wayfinding route, so failed tubes need to be replaced immediately - a costly and labour intensive process.
Bright Green Technology recommended its Bright Green MatrixTM system which will reduce the community’s energy bill by more than $10,000 each year and virtually eliminate maintenance due to the system’s 6 year lifetime (50,000 on-hours). The quality of light was another factor in the decision making process; Bright Green Matrix TM produces a much crisper white light when compared to the warm, yellow appearance of fluorescent tubes and notably improves visibility for drivers.
