The Brief

CBS is one of the world’s largest outdoor contractors, owning some of the world’s most prestigious advertising locations.

Like every other contractor, the company is facing increasing pressure to reduce it’s energy emissions from governing local authorities.

The company approached Bright Green Technology to provide a sustainable backlighting solution for its poster sites on the New York subway system.

Our brief was to reduce the sites’ overall power consumption, but - importantly - without loss in illumination perception.

The Bright Green Technology Approach

With our Bright Green Edge™ product, we were able to deliver a zero maintenance system with low voltage installation that was capable of being fitted seamlessly into a new poster case (or retrofitted as a future upgrade).

The Result

The immediate benefit was a reduction in energy consumption, as per unit power was reduced from 480W to 58W. Even better, CBS was able to totally strip out ongoing maintenance costs by eliminating its ritual of annual re-tubing. In addition, by going Bright Green, CBS has further offset its carbon footprint by increasing its future recyclability.

All this and the company managed to improve the illumination quality of its sites. A real result for local government, advertisers and the environment.
